Three Floating

As we walked across the Yampa River on a foot bridge in Steamboat Springs  we saw some guys floating downstream.  Even though it was almost too dark for pictures,  I snapped a few as they floated closer and closer and eventually drifted under the bridge.

 

On the other side of the bridge were a few rocks that needed to be navigated.   The first guy headed for the left side of the drop-off and tipped right over into the water. 

Proving that you can learn from other's mistakes,  the next two guys took the drop on the right side and kept their seats. 

Once all three were safely down the rocks,  they turned,  smiled, and continued floating down the Yampa.

Great river ride! I have experienced inner tubing down a river and it was very fun :O)

Ha! when I at first started scrolling down these I was thinking to myself, 'that fellow on the big yellow tube has got the idea - nice and comfy and dry....' <grin> Nice to have them smile for the camera too!

Here they'd be pulled out of the river and fined for not wearing life-jackets. Few people realize how debilitating cold mountain water can be. For a first offense you might be lucky to get off with a warning.
