Two Fallen Heroes

A marcher in the Milford Labor Day parade.  Milford, NH.

 

Although this parade traditionally honors local veterans of the U.S. military, members of the Peace Alliance marched to promote the concept of a U.S. Department of Peace.  I don't necessarily endorse the Peace Alliance, but I was impressed by this poster.  Most people will agree Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr. are fallen heroes.  These two men did much to change the world through non-violence.  Personally, I respect them just as much as I respect those who are willing to protect us by violent means when necessary.   Does that make any sense?

I must admit, I do like the thought of a Dept. of Peace rather than one of war, but that in no way detracts from the respect I feel for those who have given, and those who are willing to give, their lives for what they believe in. A Thought provoking tabblo, thank you.
