IS IT TOO LATE?

TO REDEEM ...

TO RESTORE ...

TO REPAIR ...

TO RETHINK ...

... OUR ENVIRONMENT ?

As we watch the sun go down, evening after evening, through the smog across the poisoned waters of our native earth, we must ask ourselves seriously whether we really wish some future universal historian on another planet to say about us:  "With all their genius and with all their skill, they ran out of foresight and air and food and water and ideas," or, "They went on playing politics until their world collapsed around them."

U Thant, speech, 1970

there's so many changes going on in our environment, yet a large group of people seem to be in denial and unaccepting of the fact that the people of the world have to get engaged now

Thant's wake-up call apparently went out in 1970. I wonder how long it will take for people to wake up. ... A very fine tabblo, Wayne. I like the 'home' symbolism. As I was scrolling down the page, reading the words, and looking at your photos, I was thinking, ... ok, yes, this looks like a big restoration project, but I think it can be done, ... there's a good framework. ... And then with the final paragraph it all came together about just what home the words were referring to. Thanks Wayne; even those not in denial about the state of our environment need a wake up call every now and then too.

Well said, Wayne. A great, thought provoking Tabblo!

Great pictures and arrangement and especially message. My only critique would be that the las line of the quote is interrupted by the border. Is there any way to add a little space there?

Love this Wayne, too bad our governments wouldn't think like we do. But if they did, there would be no money in their pockets.

Great Tabblo. Hopefully with thinking and postings like these we can keep these sentiments in the forefront of peoples minds. People cant change unless they see a need for change. Sadly enough many folks go through life w/ blinders on. Thoughts and pix like these can hopefully open a few minds. Sometimes in my line of work I find myself in the thick of it (environmental attitudes) at work and strive to get my point across as Im sure you do in your work. Remember you can always fix a wrong with a few more decisions but can never go back if nothing is done. and a personal mantra of mine... Its Never Too Late! Lve the last picture - the roof with 2 or more types of coverings and multiple paints.

Change is one of the great challenges for our culture. With our set cultural drive to aquire and posses we forget some of the basic things in the world around us. Thanks for the reminder that simple is often better. Clean air and water are better in this world than the newest car or toy. A powerfully moving tabblo.

Thankyou all for your comments. Please forgive my lack of reaction, my real world job has been very demanding of late. I'll try to catch up with all the great tabblo's that have been posted this week.

There is another story behind the images in this tabblo. I've been debating how to share it with you, but when I figure it out, I will.

Where I started in this Tabblo and where I ended up were two very different places. The result ... well, I can't top your words. Thank you.
