Big Five Grand Slam

The phrase Big Five game was coined by big-game hunters and refers to the five large animals that were sought in Africa. The term is still used in most tourist and wildlife guides that discuss African wildlife safaris. The collection consists of the lion, the elephant, the African or Cape buffalo, the leopard and the rhinoceros. The members of the big five were chosen for the difficulty in hunting them and not their size, which is why the leopard is on the list and the enormous hippopotamus is not.

I was on wildlife safari in Africa not hunting with a gun, but with the camera. And I also changed in "my Big Five" the leopard by the Cheetah twins waiting for their mother. I took the pictures in  the Amboseli, Masai Mara and Serengeti National Park.

Wonderful tabblo. It's so nice to see someone is shooting with a camera instead of a gun. Great shots.

These are beautiful. I have seen wonderful photos of the Serengeti National Park. Amazing place. And you did a terrific job with you camera. Much fun than a gun!

Great pictures. However in your efforts to capture the "Big Five", you took a picture of Cheetahs instead of a Leopard. You may want to update your photos with the correct species and/or go hit the books so you can better identify African game.

Hi Robbie89, you are right. I didn“t get a Leopard in front of my camera so I have decided to change it by the Cheetah. Please, forgive me ....
