End of a Perfect Day: Fog Rolling in At 3-Mile Harbor, East Hampton

A broad reach in 15-knot wind, all the way from the Connecticut shore to "The Coffeepot" lighthouse at Plum Gut...livened by trolling up a fish that send me to the Internet for identification (a bonito tuna, unusual for Long Island Sound).  We dined on him for 4 days.

The wind carried all the way through Gardiner's Bay to the entrance of Three Mile Harbor in the East Hamptons, where we were visited at anchor by a family of swans, the signets almost fully grown and about to shed their gray feathers.

Then, as we sat in the cockpit waiting for sunset with glasses of Merlot, dense fog rolled in, and by daybreak, we couldn't see the bow of the boat .
