The rider in the first pic won a Chrysler convertible for a year - it's something to look happy about. I don't know her, but she's from High River, a small town not too far from Calgary. I wasn't too crazy about any of my shots from this weekend event... at least there's a next time. :)

Wow; that bank with the first jump immediately below looks tough! ... I don't think you've done too badly with these at all! The first one of the winner, well is a winner! and the straight on shot (fourth up from the bottom) is wonderful; I love the expression on the rider's face! ... too bad about the stuff in the foreground, but I can just imagine how difficult it would be to not have such things in a shot from an event like this! Great job!

Yes, it sure is a tough jump, the horses have only one stride from the base of the bank to the jump and it forces them to take off like a deer, straight up. It's a real test of their power and agility.
