Rainbow Lorikeet - Weekend Best

The good news is two Rainbow Lorikeets have taken over a old possum (bird) box in the front garden. Move in Sat. morning and were still there late sunday afternoon.  Got to find the best camera spot to  overcome where the dark shadows are around the box.

Adorable and so colorful! We have just adopted an Easter Rozella (not sure of the spelling) from my elderly Aunt. Carlos (the bird) has much of the same colors but streaked instead of blocked... :^)

Welshchick - that would be an Eastern Rozella - slightly muted colours and very pretty. We get them in the garden as well.

Rhonda, if you have a Eastern Rosella (Platycercus eximius) it will be about 12 inches in length, have a red head, less green and be deep blue under the wings. There are according to my book 8 Types of Rosella's and then variations into races. (I will not ask what a welshchick is doing looking at Tabblo at 4:30 in the morning.....Grin..etc etc .)

wow! i'm jealous. it is like when i was a kid: we had a black and white tv [up here lots of black and white magpies] and you are watching 'tv' in living COLOUR!

How blessed you are to have so many wonderful brightly coloured birds in your neck of the woods. Now that they have a home close by, you should get lots of photo ops of these beautiful birds.
