Bengals to Catalina - Sept. 7-9, 2007

The Bengals made their inaugural voyage a great one by making the trip to Emerald Bay on the north side of Catalina Island.  Despite the combined experience of the members, we all somehow managed to forget our cameras, so the picture quantity is rather weak.  However, the memories are vivid as this camp was amazing.

It was so peaceful and relaxing to sit on the shore and watch the sun come up over the ocean.  We took a tour of the Marine Center, played "Capture the Flag," snorkeled, and kayaked.  One of the morning highlights was watching Terry and Dennis dunk their daughters by swamping their canoe!  The water was chilly, but crystal clear.  We spent nearly two hours in the water snorkeling.  The girls became increasingly brave and could be found diving through kelp beds and even trying to grab fish.

At night we had a great campfire with the expedition and enjoyed a music show and some great skits.  The only problem with the weekend was that it ended too early.  We topped it off with a big group lunch at Bubba Gumps in Long Beach.  What more could you ask for in a weekend?
