Big Red Moon

Okay...so we are outside bbq'ing (hey, it's Texas!) and my better half says,

"WOW! Did you see the moon?"

 

It was HUGE and only half of it was rising above the earth slowly coming out of the ground....

 

BIG BIG BIG

 

RED RED RED

 

COOL COOL COOL

 

I said, "Wow!"  I have to capture it if I can and ran to find my camera.

 

By the time I found it and turned it on and got into position (without a tripod as my sons broke it), it already was a full ball and smaller go higher and higher (yet still big and bright...it just didn't look like it was about to consume the earth any longer).

 

Here's what I got.

 

As soon as it got high, it turned white.

 

My daughter came home from homecoming and said: "Did you see that BIG LOW RED MOON tonight?!"

 

it's a beautiful wonderful life.

I take it this was earlier this week. I, too, witnessed this extraordinarily beautiful moonrise here on the west coast of Canada but, unlike, you, I was not fast enough getting the camera ready and by the time I did, it was too late! I am so glad you shared this, Kelly.
