Theater and Java Jacksonville Style

The Florida Theatre has served as Jacksonville's premier entertainment center since 1927.

The original Jacksonville coffee plant was built in 1910 by the Cheek-Neal Coffee Company to produce Maxwell House Coffee. Today the facility is the largest producer of Roast and Ground coffee of the three locations producing Maxwell House coffee, the other two being the Houston TX facility and the San Leandro CA facility.

Nice! Was the Florida Theatre as nice inside as the Tampa Theatre? And has Maxwell House been around that long, or longer...do you know? :)

Holly, I didn't go in the theater, but I can't imagine it being as great as Tampa's :) Herre's what I found about Maxwell house coffee:

1892
A coffee blend developed by Joel Cheek for the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee became so popular that the hotel owner ordered no other coffee to be served to his guests. This special blend soon became known as MAXWELL HOUSE coffee.

That Maxwell House Coffee good to the last drop hasn't changed since I was a little kid. Anybody besides me old enough to remember that they sponsored "I Remember Mama"?

I have seen the movie, but don't think I was old enough for the tv show.

I love the contrast of the different architectural styles! ... I still prefer the painted brick type of sign, even though it's well maintained, ... but I gotta admit, that large drip is pretty cool! Very Nice Tabblo Linda!
