Who would've thought that on Columbus Day weekend in New England it would be warm enough not only to play in the sand, but also in the WATER on the Cape?

Jake loved riding in the bike trailer -we got in several *wonderful* family bike outings - both to the beach and just around the neighborhood.

Toby loved building sandcastles (and counting them) and Jake loved roaring and stomping on them.   Alas, we're still working on the asking first part...

We ate as many meals as possible out on the deck.  Sunday night, that was just appetizers - including steamed clams and cheeses from The Brown Jug - followed by dinner of stuffed scallops, roasted kale and cherry tomatoes (from our farm), with broiled salmon from Joe's Lobster Mart.    It could only have been better if we had been joined by our friends Fred & Madeleine.
