Iran , the country of Roses ! A photographic exhibition By Banafsheh Ehtemam

On Wednesday October 24th  from 4-5.15 pm , a photographic exhibition of Banafsheh Ehtemam’s voyages through Iran will be on display following an immediate Lecture . She has chosen a different aspect of Iran  : “ Today’s lecture is not about  a country called the “Axis of Evil “ and certainly not about the country’s  nuclear power program nor the speech of its president at the Columbia university. Today , I would like to introduce you to a country that I know and I have traveled extensively , my home country ,  Iran ! A country as Beautiful as Roses!

The lecture will cover a glimpse of  Iran’s History , culture , wealth and arts (specifically architecture) . I will take you to a journey of growing up in Iran and as a woman photographer in the recent years traveling throughout the country . Indeed a Mosaic of contrast”.

I'll be away in Delaware for work so I'll miss the opening. I will check it out when I come back. It's great that you're doing this because it will be nice for Americans to see Iran and Iranians as people rather than as part of the Axis of Evil.

I won't be able to see your exhibition because I'll be in the UK, but I'm sure it will be fascinating. Iran has a special place in my heart, after living and working there for over two years. I think it's important for people to see how it really is, not how it's portrayed in the media. The Iranians are wonderful, warm people, and the scenery in that vast country is absolutely stunning. I do hope your exhibition is a great success!

Congratulations on launching this show! I'm sorry I'm so far away. It would be a nice way to learn about Iran outside of media spin. Laura
