Aurora

We had a nice Aurora Borialis display tonight and I managed to photograph some of it (and a meteorite).

Auroras are called the Merrie Dancers here - and I stayed up much too late watching their hypnotic show!

Thank you for your comment, Domieb2.
I'm sure I'll see some more auroras this Winter, so watch this space!

Nicely captured! Especially the last one. Auroras (Aurorae?) are not easy to photograph.

Thank you, everyone.

Aurora (aurorae?) are easier to photograph if they are not moving fast - it's a lot harder if they are shape-shifting quickly; the results are just a big mess!
For the photographers out there - I used a Nikon D40, 18mm-55mm DX lens, ISO1600, F8, 30 seconds exposure.

Of course, I can't expect to capture a meteor everytime!
