Harajuku Station is the subway stop for Yoyogi Park, the site of the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Village (also next to the entrance to Meiji Temple). The site was a cross secton for international cultures to meet during the Olypmics and today represents the center for Japanese youth to shop and gather.
On Sundays afternoons, Japanese youth -- mainly young girls -- vamp in gothic styles to hear hard rock music performed by groups in similarly bizarre dress. |

|
Japanese street artists also gather at Harajuku Station Sunday afternoons to draw and sell colorful cartoon images in the graphic manga style comic books. |

It's dusk and curfew time when all good little Harajuku girls must leave for home to wait for next Sunday's gathering. |
