SATURDAY MARKET IN UZES

Ce dernier week-end d'Octobre, nous avons eu la visite des filles de Papa Guy à Alès : Brigitte et son mari Emmanuel, Marie-Luce (lucemiami) et sa fille Clara (clarai). Et le Samedi, à une trentaine de kilomètres d'Alès, a lieu le beau marché d' Uzès. Coloré, animé, festif, vous y trouverez tous les produits régionaux de la Cévenne à la Provence. Ne ratez pas lorsque vous viendrez dans la région, sur la belle Place aux Herbes, le marché de la TRUFFE, le plus savoureux et le plus prisé des champignons... Maman nous a régalés ce Dimanche d'un excellent repas : au menu, fricassée de cèpes, épaule d'agneau, zallouk et une sublime tarte aux poires-maison , le tout accompagné d'un divin "Domaine de Prose", grand cru Montpelliérain mis en bouteille à Saint Georges d' Orque. Merci Maman, merci Papa Guy...

Nota : le zallouk est un plat d'origine marocaine à base d'aubergines , d'ail et d'épices... Toutes les recettes secrètes de Maman sont dans le pc de Guy (frerot). Avec un peu de chance, frerot vous dévoilera quelques secrets de famille...

Brigitte et Emmanuel ont repris le chemin de Montpellier, Marie-Luce et Clara sont à Barcelone avant de regagner Miami. Je me partage entre ma maison et celle de Maman et Guy. J'y prends presque tous mes repas. Quand je ne suis pas chez moi, ma fidèle "babouche" fait la garde dans le jardin. Mes enfants passent nous voir quand leurs études le leur permettent.

Ainsi vont les jours, les semaines et les mois d'automne dans la bonne ville d'Alès.

Très jolies photos, une fois encore... :) Clara est sublimée, on magerait les nougats, et la table de Ilise font bien envie.
La lumière de cet automne est parfaitement restituée, c'est une très belle série, bravo mon Thierry. Anaelle et moi t'embrassons bien fort !

You've made another captivating tabblo. In America there's a famous phrase from the Declaration of Independence - "the pursuit of happiness." There are no guarantees offered on the success of that pursuit, but at least with your tabblos the odds are very good.

Ah, Thierry! Ton Tabblo est magnifique!!!! Tu as admirablement capturé les festivités, les couleurs, les personnes, et la magique du marché. Uzès paraît un village beau et pittoresque. Chaque image me fait sourire. Papa Guy semble si content être entouré par « toutes ses belles filles ». Le regard de son visage dit tous (je t’embrasse, Papa Guy). C’est facile à voir pourquoi tu dînes, Thierry, chez Maman et Guy; la nourriture de Maman semble délicieuse. Je crois que Maman partagerait ses recettes secrètes avec moi, non? :) Merci beaucoup pour ce Tabblo, Thierry!! Anthony et moi, nous nous amusons bien de voir les images. TRANSLATION FOR UMA
This last weekend of october, we had the visit of Papa Guy's daughters in Alès: Brigitte and her husband Emmanuel, Marie-Luce (lucemiami) and her daughter Clara. Saturdays, at about thirty kilometers of Alès, there is the beautiful market of Uzès. Coloured, animated, festive, you will find there all the regional products from Cévenne to Provence. Not to be missed when you are in the area, on the big plaza "des herbes", the truffle market, the most delicious mushrooms... Sunday Mom spoiled us with an excellent meal: on the menu "fricassée de cèpes", shoulder of lamb, zallouk and a sublime pie made of pears from the garden, accompanied by a divine "Domaine Prose", great vintage from Montpellier bottled in Saint Georges d' Orque. Thank you Mom, thank you Guy Dad... Foot-note: the zallouk is a moroccan dish origin based on eggplant, garlic and spices... All the secret recipes of Mom are in Guy's pc (frerot). With a little luck, frerot will share some family secrets w/ you... Brigitte and Emmanuel headed back to Montpellier, Marie-Luce and Clara are in Barcelona before returning to Miami. I split my time between my house and my mother and Guy's, I have most of my meals there. When I am not at home, my faithful "Babouche" keeps an eye out from the garden. My children visit us when their studies allow. And so go the days, the weeks and the months of autumn in the "good ol" town of Alès...

J'adore le dessinateur avec son sac d'ecole et son chien, le bel instantané de la jeune fille qui se mord un peu la levre, le guitariste perdu dans sa musique, les nougats pour la gourmandise, et le super portrait de toi en noir et blanc (avec Marie-Luce? Je veux dire le deuxième N & B). Dis donc Thierry tes cheveux ont poussé!!! En lisant le comment, je me suis demandé c'est quoi le Zallouk et hop explanation just after, magique. Des belles photos qui donnent envie de visiter Uzes et Ales (pour la bonne cuisine surtout). J'aime bien les photos des gens au marche, surtout celle du viel homme avec son chien qui attend si patiemment. Le tout me rappelle d'une expression de Thoreau, "That man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest" (Cet home est le plus riche dont les plaisirs sont les moins chers). Amities.
