Round Lake Library Presents... SCARY STORIES!

On Tuesday, October 30, Vampire Ann delighted a large crowd of children with a program about Halloween, scary stories, dead body parts, and, of course, candy and prizes.

After reading scary stories in the dark by flashlight, Vampire Ann had a few games set up for everyone.

Pass the Skull was a fun game, as Miss Briana sat in the corner and turned the music off, which determined the winner by who was left holding the skull.

When the lights were out, Miss Christi assisted as Vampire Ann passed around bowls of body parts for the kids to handle, including fingers, a heart, eyeballs, an ear, hair and a hand.  They were amused and disgusted all at once.  Afterward, the challenge was to guess what kind of food she used to pretend like it was a body part.  They worked quite hard trying to figure these out.

The children did quite well guessing what foods the body parts were made of, and Vampire Ann was sure to show them what they really touched, like grapes (eyeballs), hot dogs (fingers), tomato (heart), string (hair), apricot (ear), and a latex glove filled with water and creamed corn (hand).

At the end of the program, the craft project was revealed.  The kids had to turn a hot dog into a finger and two cherry tomatoes into zits using sour cream.  There was much squealing with disgust, but everyone enthusiastically filled their tomatoes with pus.

As always, a great deal of fun was had by all.

Halloween is great for people of all ages!
