Grandbrother Album & Song Labels

I started recording music a dozen or so years ago using the keyboards my parents got me for Christmas when I was 12 years old, a drum machine, an effects box, a mixing board, and an old Tascam multitrack recorder. Back then, I recorded under the name "Disco Room" with a couple friends. Years later I got better recording equipment, and changed the name I work under to "Grandbrother" because it was a fun game....as in "try to figure out how a blood relative could be your grandbrother".

So far, I think it's impossible.

I feel most creative when collaborating which, in recent years, has led me to focus on remixing tracks for a variety of artists. Currently, two of the remixes I've done have been officially released, both for a singer named Julie Dennis. One of them, a remix of a track called "Cut To The Chase" can be found on the US and UK versions of itunes, and the other, a remix of Julie's cover of the classic Peggy Lee track "Fever" can be found on itunes UK. This is the cover of the first cd I made for friends compiling all the least embarrassing (in my opinion) music I had done as of about 2005

Another remix I did - in this case, a pretty aggressive sounding one - so the sharp shapes and striking red and black markings of this spider worked well for it.

This image goes along with a new, original track I did that's shaped around the idea of evolution. The primitive-looking caterpillar seemed appropriate for it.

This cover goes along with a remix I completed recently that looks like it'll be getting released. The multicolored background is a tweaked image of an inchworm believe it or not

I'm just finishing up this remix for an artist called "The Atheist". The picture was taken with my cell phone, down the hall from where my wife was having her last wisdom tooth removed.

I was invited by one of my favorite groups, R.O.C., to do a remix of one of their songs. This cell phone photo is the L.A. skyline from the roof of the old Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery

This is a cover for a remix I did of a song by one of my favorite groups, Underworld. The picture was taken with my cell phone under the 405 overpass on Culver Blvd. in L.A.

This label goes with the first new, original track I've done in a few years. The picture is a modified section from a shot of a snail I took that's on one of my other Tabblos

I did a remix for James, a singer/guitarist/songwriter, back in 2006. The picture was taken at Manhattan Beach CA on my cell phone camera one day when I was out playing volleyball

This label goes with a remix I did for a contest being held by Sub Pop Records for the recording artist Dntel. It's just a snapshot of the music program I use to record, "Reason"

This was for a remix of a track called "These Days" by a local rapper/singer, Brevi, that I did earlier this year. The picture is a close-up section of the side of a candle in our living room
