Round Lake Library Presents... THE AMAZING GARY!

With a hearty round of applause, audience members seemed to leave the show with a lot more smiles and a little less sure of physics.  Excellent job, Amazing Gary!

On November 18, 2007,

THE

AMAZING

GARY

paid a visit to the Round Lake Library, to entertain, mystify and amuse patrons of all ages!

Candice, our hostess for the Sunday Sampler series, introduced The Amazing Gary to an enthusiastic audience.

See?  Nothing up his sleeve!

First order of business is always conjuring up a magic wand.

With a little help from an audience member, The Amazing Gary attempted to make popcorn without heat.

What they got instead was...

a chicken???

Another young lady assisted with a card trick.  The Amazing Gary asked her to pick a card, then he wrote his name on that card.

Hey, how did the card get on her chair???

Magic boxes that move objects between them!

The Amazing Gary is multitalented.  In addition to magic, he can make balloon animals and do balloon dog tricks with them!

With the assistance of another audience member, The Amazing Gary had his thumbs taped tightly together and still managed to remove his jacket and hook a steel ring, a coat hanger and a chair around his arm.

How'd he DO that?

Was it magic or the music that inspired these two to dance for the audience?

"It's fun to stay at the...

Y. M. C. A.!"

Hey, who gets credit for doing these tricks?

Balanced precariously on a board, which was balanced precariously on the backs of two chairs, The Amazing Gary removed one chair and then the board supporting this young boy, and he actually levitated!

Is it really magic when a high-tech device like this (plungers and a phone cord) is used to link siblings, enabling them to read one another's mind?  Whether by magic or by plunging thoughts, they each picked the same card!

With props like this laying around, it's difficult to find someone who will willingly go along with the next trick.

However, a brave young woman allowed The Amazing Gary to chop off her hand!  Yet, her hand was still attached!  But wait, how did he get her watch then???
