banjarmasin floating markets

floating market kuini and lokbaintan at banjarmasin. southern part of kalimantan, indonesia.  one of our favourite destinations is city by the river and sea. like grand canal in venice, also klong in bangkok. how about indonesia? we chose banjarmasin, a city by the river in kalimantan island.

we go early before the sunrise, catch traditional boat called "klotok" and  boating on barito river, where we visit  kuin and lokbaintan. so lively as they  trade from  the klotoks.  then for breakfast ... voila! eureka! we get aboard. what? who dare to use fork and spoon whilst the boat keep on wobbleing? we'd tried. and it's very nice.

I like your camera angle in the floating market. It adds a sense of tension to the busy crowd.

thanks for dropping by in our floating market tabblo, joe, anja, noe, pat and ania.
- yes joe, since the camera is just a very handly ones [read 'pocket camera' hahahaha] we have to take some diffierent angle to show others 'this is busy and crowd and everybody join in the floating market' :)
- anja, yes .. brunei also have these scenes'life bythe rivers' :)
- noe, it's fantastic and crowded as everybody gather in the same river of barito :)
- pat, they sell bread fruit, watermelon, banana, pineapple, papaya, snacks, breakfast and daily utensils! :)
- ania, you should go here. yes, you have to take a boat [klotok] if you want to shopping. if you only standing by the pier or harbour, you will miss the busy trades from boat to boat. it's cool. and sometimes they don't need to use money, just trade b fruit with a fruit etc. it's really nice!
