I grew up less than an hour from where many of these scenics were taken, and never really "focused" on them. Today, "severe clear" combined with the golden phase of late-fall maple foilage to give an absolutely magical view to this heart of the Pennsylvania farmland.

Or perhaps, you have to go away from the familiar for quite a while until you can appreciate the scenery the way you would when visiting a "foreign" place for the first time.
