NOVA SCOTIA LIGHTHOUSE

This photo was taken from a boat enroute to Sambro Island, Nova Scotia.  It was a very foggy day and the lighthouse horn was blowing.  There were other houses on the island, but were floated to Ketch Harbour and Sambro and are now being lived in.  This lighthouse was all restored by  the Lighthouse Preservation  Society, and although I haven't been there recently, the houses remaining were going to be restored and used by tourists.  It is unknown up to this point, if that was indeed done.

It's sad to see all the lighthouses and the way of life of the lighthouse keeper and their families going by the wayside because of technology, but it's good to see that they are being restored and maintained, at least that way of life won't be forgotten. Very nice tabblo Mom! :)

I agree Deb, my husband was the skipper of the boat that took the men over to the island to do the repairs, of course, I went along too, so I watched the repairs from the beginning.
