Overcome by Autumn

The John F. Kennedy School in Medford MA has a "new part" built in the late 50s-early 60s, and an "old part" build 100+ years prior to that. Both are now abandoned and are slowly being overtaken by nature, right there by the side of a busy urban street.

The school has presence and style any time of year, with the grand, imposing brick of the "old side," and the once-sleek glass and teal of the "new side" with its sound-dampening wall of decorative square terracotta bricks. But in fall, the whole place is bursting with color, in both the wide view, and the details.

Photos taken with a Holga on Fuji 160c, morning of November 23 2007 (sunny morning).

Well composed pictures especially the first one. Why is the school especially named after the President go to waste like that.

Extremely Interesting!!! - I've been feeling this is the future of brick-and-mortar school systems (please don't say you hear this here) - We learn by doing, not necessarily by taking notes and tests.

Very well done!!! --
