/tau toba nauli/

lake toba. or known by locals as tau toba nauli. the beautiful  volcanic crater lake at the northern part of sumatera, indonesia. it's about 5 hours drive from medan, 2 hours from pematangsiantar and 45 minutes using ferry from parapat.

something not to be missed is the ancient bataknese heritage. about the stones monuments and graveyard of king sidabutar at tomok and ambarita. stones chairs where the king and chieftains discussing, instead of public court where the traitors must be hanging or killed by the locals' guillotine look-alike.

the unique thing from samosir isle, there's a small lake at the heart of the island named sidohoni. it means, a lake within a lake.

- thanks ania, we use some variation using black and white to give more impression towards its place.
- pat, it takes hours and it's nice to be there!
