Okay...I'll leave my own comment (tee-hee): "Texas sends you it's fondest regards this 4th!"
We had a great day....drought and all. As you know, our drought has been severe (what is new?! *sigh* Did you know Texas has only ONE (count it) real lake...the rest are all man-made?!). We were allowed to blow-off only certain types of fireworks in our particular area. Well, being responsible folks from Chicago transplanted to Texas (hahaha j/k), we decided not to blow off anything...until we saw it was getting stormy....well, what's new? It always looks like that lately and we never see a drop of rain in this "burmuda triangle." We seem to always miss every drop. Anyhow, on a whim Jim ran out w/ the kids telling them they had to go to WALMART (groans!!)...but he took them to buy fireworks.... :-) They came home so happy---so cute to see...I pretended not to know (but I was the one who suggested to DADDY to do this...making Him the hero and me the zero. hahhahaha Ah, love.). They were so happy to display all their "things"...and we all sat on our back patio to watch the displays....later at night (we saved a few) ...we blew up some more. Dylan the neighbor came over....we also watched "Yankee Doodle Dandy" on Ted Turner (groan on HIM) network.....as a family...I love that. I ADORE the classics....and am sure our kids do, too!! (Kill "reality" tv, puh-leeeeez). Anyhow, after a bit, some "cops" (hehe) drove past us and pulled up to our circle and put his big spotlight on (remember: some fireworks are illegal here)...we hid our beers (haha...a fly-back to highschool?? haha) and *whistled* while looking at the Texas Stars at night (you know: they are big and bright! haha)....anyhow, they left...and we waited a few and then lit the rest off...even though OURS were legal...what freaks...afraid for nothing!! hahahahahhaahhahha I love honest people!!!

Oooops...."Sargent York" is on.....must go! Another family show!

Happy 4th to you and yours and YOUR STATE from ours!!!! THE GREAT LONE STAR STATE!

Have a Lone Star Beer....Kelly. ;-)

Happy belated 4th of July! I love the pictures you put in this tabblo. Using photos of the fireworks was a nice touch. We had a beautiful day in Mabank, Texas. No rain in sight until yesterday, after the celebrations were over. It poured. It was great! Did you finally get some rain? Hope so!
