¡¡¡¡Arte.. colores, trozos , palabras y... Brasil!!!! Demais para meus cinco minutos... Tudo explode!!!!!
Pkeener said at 6:32 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I am so in love with this Tabblo!!! can i marry it? Liliana, this is such a BEAUTIFUL dedication for you. Is your middle name MUSE? W O W.
Edu, you had me at Degenerate. this is abslutely one of my all time faves. This artwok from a wall, I am thinking, is so great with the choice of quotes. Can I have your autograph?
Leftofcenter said at 6:35 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
bwaaaaanaaaaaaaaa!!!! just loooove this concept colorful abstract street art with quotes!! why didn't I think of this??? fantastic Eduardo, your tabs are little jewels these days (well always but you've been away..) it's a fave!! Hi Liliana!!!

Very intersting!

I would like to add one of my favorite all time quotes about photography by Richard Avedon: All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth.
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:41 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
PAM: Yes, you can marry it. Like its author, it's still single and available. But, also like its author, it's not as easy to handle as you may suppose.

ANNELIES: This has been done many times before (by you, by Pam, by Katkee, by most of us). Not quoting Goebbels, of course...
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:43 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I'll borrow your favorite quote, PAM. I have already found a special place for it. Thanks, partner!
Leftofcenter said at 6:45 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I did??? no way jose, ok graffiti and the odd quote, but nothing like this, it's the whole picture and you only show part of the graffiti and being "leftie" I like that!! ;)
Pkeener said at 6:52 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I'll take my chances!
Liliana said at 6:55 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
¡Salgado!
Liliana said at 6:58 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
Pam & Leftie: thank you very much!!! Yes, sometimes I am a "muse", when I have enough time ;).
Eduardo: ¡obrigada, entao, pela estimulaçao!!!
NavyMom said at 7:03 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
surely we can get an Arts Canada grant to bring you over for Mary's art class. beautiful tabblo
Eduardo.affonso said at 7:12 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:

Eu a conhecia atribuída a Al Capp, a Grouxo Marx... Vou averiguar e corrigir, se for o caso.

Eduardo.affonso said at 7:13 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I'll gladly accept it, SHIRL!
Mjpileggi said at 7:20 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
This is incredible!!! Love the quotes and the art that goes along with them. Great tabblo Eduardo!
Decoy said at 7:22 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
This is brilliant, no words necessary.. you said it all, by words and with your photography.
Dcs said at 7:25 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
Well done. I particularly like Salgado's quote.
Liliana said at 7:29 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
No tan poético, ¿no?
Pkeener said at 8:09 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
Great job with the Avedon after the Goddard
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:10 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
Thanks, MONICA, ANNA & DAVE. Sebastião Salgado is one of my favorite photographers, and I like his quote very much.
Liliana said at 8:21 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:26 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
LILIANA: Instinto sempre me lembra Freud, claro. Enfim, divago. É a hora.
Liliana said at 8:43 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
A cualquier hora, claro.
Pkeener said at 10:28 p.m. on Nov 29, 2007:
I never thought I would see the creator of 'lil' Abner quoted alongside Stalin Chagal and Picaso! I also applaud the Annie L. another hero of mine. the juxtaposition of the bright gaffiti, next to the quotes, the framing you used, and the intuitive way you matched the quotes to the snippets of art work is just so delightful
Chiloedream said at 2:48 a.m. on Nov 30, 2007:
Rita.Mandarino said at 7:41 a.m. on Nov 30, 2007:
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:05 a.m. on Nov 30, 2007:

THIERRY: Merci beaucoup, mon ami!

PAM: The mix of celebrities was part of the fun. And I also enjoyed the challenge of making this using only intuition - or instinct, as Anatole France said. By the way, I'm still wonderind why I used purple as background color...
Pkeener said at 8:33 a.m. on Nov 30, 2007:
PURPLE is the color of Creativity and Passion!!! thats why. your instincts. And guess what? its my favorite color. and i could go on and on about the comarisons and contrasts of the artists quoted. But i wont. I agree with GThierry! It is a Masterpiece.
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:07 a.m. on Nov 30, 2007:
Well, PAM, you might be right. I like purple, its depth, its connections (at least in Brazil) with death, pain, religion, passion. I thought orange was the color of creativity.

"Remember crime against property is not real crime. People look at an oil painting and admire the use of brushstrokes to convey meaning. People look at a graffiti painting and admire the use of a drainpipe to gain access." - Robert Banks (aka "Banksy")

A relevant quote by a relevant artist...

I adore the tabblo, absolutely stunning!

Eduardo.affonso said at 5:14 p.m. on Dec 1, 2007:
TRANG: Thanks a lot. I know I don't deserve your compliment, but I like it anyway...

KTZ: Many, many thanks for your kind words, and for your quotation. I'm fond of Banksy's insightful, provocative art.

MANUEL: Sorry I can't reply in French (je ne parle pas Français...). I agree with you: my idea, when i cropped these grafittis this way, was to look at them from a different perspective, including their "canvas" (decaying walls), focusing on colors and textures, no longer on the image itself.

OSCAR: Se todos tivéssemos as citações certas nos momentos oportunos, seríamos sempre geniais. Nem que fosse à custa dos outros...

"LUNATIC": Thanks! That's exactly what I had in mind. Max Ernst once said thad art must always be invention, discovery, revelation. We could add "transformation" to this list.

GRETEL: So all your artist friends are quoted here? You mean... Goebbels, Stalin, too? LOL
Ebucar said at 5:38 p.m. on Dec 1, 2007:

Belo Tabblo, Eduardo! Gostei! ( FIVE *****).

Thanks for your kind comment, JOE! There are many creative tabbloers, and I am glad you inclued me among the ones you appreciate.

DEB & AdSR: Thanks! The quotes are really great, and I guess I reached my goal: to make people think about art.
