I happened to be in Big Bear with some friends this past weekend for the first snow of the season. It started on the night of November 30th, and continued into the morning. I took a lot of pictures. |

The cabin we stayed in was on the lake. Most of these pictures were taken from on and around the dock. |

Steve and Laika fishing. |

All this fog and haze is actually the clouds that were snowing on us. |

I liked these little frozen water drops. |

Here comes Frank! |

Looks pretty tough with his Christmas collar on, huh? I do have to admit that I like the soothing jingling sound it makes though.... |

Despite appearances, he had a blast out there. He's just a little unsure about what to make of the dock. |

The clouds were pretty thick the whole morning. And you can't see it well, but the snow was coming down non-stop. |

It was around 26 degrees. |

Nothing makes you feel better when you're fishing than seeing the people at the cabin next door hauling in one fish after another. And no, this isn't a magical flying trout. They were just reeling this little guy in from their deck, which was about 30 feet up off the beach. |

Just past the neighbors, you could see all the way to the dam. |

Pretty rough water most of the day. |

This shows the low clouds nicely. |

The wind kicked up pretty hard, too. This was actually spray coming off the water because of it. |

Okay....so I got obsessed with this hill. There was snow and ice everywhere, but for some reason, this hill was way more white than any others around it. |

I was gonna edit out some of the photos I took of it, but I like them all for different, subtle reasons. Between the clouds racing by and the constantly changing lighting, I just never got tired of looking at it. |

I know. It's a lot of pictures of the same hill. Well there was other cool stuff too, I swear. Here's a sampling of it all... |

You can see these trees leaning in the wind. It was pretty relentless. |

I know this is a pretty long tabblo. Hope you enjoyed it. |
