Here's the young maiden, happy to be out of the car and eager to for some action during a break on a family auto trip. |

The young man, on the other hand, decides to go into the woods and practice his trombone. |
|
Then he notices the beautiful maid, innocently relaxing on the hillside, and . . . |

He tries to chat her up: "Hey, beautiful! How 'bout we sit on the car trunk together and I'll play you some groovy tunes?"
She is aghast at his effrontery and replies, "Get away, you masher!" |
|
On reflection, she thinks this might be a harmless diversion and, besides, she really likes his cool, shiny trombone. After a few minutes of his serenade, she swings into action, shouting "I WANT IT!", as she grabs to take his horn. |
|
Mother, hearing the commotion, arrives quickly to remove the object of contention, much to the young man's disgust. The maid, however, is overjoyed at the thought of getting the instrument when he's no longer around! [Renate and Edkar, 1938-9] |
