One Night Stand Review

One Night Stand was a success in terms of performances. Each band gave out their best and their efforts was richly rewarded with loving applause and cheers of joy from the audience. The show was from start to finish an enjoyable affair for all that came, glitch free and on schedule.

April managed to beat the first performer disadvantage with a rousing performance that put the audience in the mood for more good music, which was then provided by the surprice package of the night, Radioflyer. Lucy In The Loo then played power pop melodies that made the crowd stand up on their feet as a show of approval.

Spectacular highlights from the night were the singalongs provoked by Seven Collar T-Shirt's emotional set. They paraded an 11 song set including one new still unnamed song and a cover of Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing' that definitely brings flashback to yesteryears.

The final act,  Bittersweet definitely proved themselves as THE band of the night as they thoroughly made the audience dance without abandon for each song they played. When they finished their last number, an encore was requested by the crowd - something rarely done for shows of this stature. And they happpily obliged by playing their well known track from the Radio Malaya compilation.

In terms of attendance, around 250 person were present at the show, with three quarters of them paying audiences and the rest crew+ band members. It was indeed a good way to start off the inaugural One Night Stand with such solid support. It was also encouraging to notice that the early bird ticket offering was recepted warmly by the crowd. As such this pricing would be fine tuned for future shows.
