The Office

For sure, it's The Office to someone, one where plenty of funny business takes place.  Hey, who goes there?!  I'd sure love to know the secret story.

The Cotton Belt Route building seems well loved, though.  Not only by graffiti artists and photographers, but also by those who've spackled and patched it up.  Maybe this'll be revived as a hot loft condominium in 10 years or so.

A true intrigue: The historic St. Louis Southwestern Railway building aka the Cotton Belt Route.  This is one of the most mysterious spaces I've ever encountered; it draws you in like a magnet.  There always seem to be quiet, shadowy figures appearing out of nowhere on this abandoned land.  And crude, rustic art semblances abound.

I couldn't bring myself to venture inside, but these brave souls had quite a time shooting the interior: Underground Ozarks BlogLike me, this blogger/photographer wonders if rituals take place on these grounds.  Either that or drug-induced spacial art creation.  I've found rocks and small boulders formed in peculiar patterns; others have posted photos of equally provocative burned log formations.

I hadn't thought of this before. Some of the old western films described "ghost towns," where some industry had died out and then, with no jobs, all the people left. These abandoned industrial buildings are the new ghost towns. Nice portrait of one.

I had a bit of a laugh at the last image with the raised eyebrow John Belushi from the Animal House toga party.

I quite agree that it does look like a ghost town, but its such a waste to leave the whole place like that

W O W great find, Viq!! love the angles on all shots. I wonder what Michael (Steve Correl) would make of this? Probably a field trip and dedication to the poor abandoned building by his staff at the paper company. Thanks for another great "trip" tabblo. the belushi is a fitting jtribute.

B O U N D?? there's something to be said for each picture, abandonment, colorful street art, Belushi, used to love the Blues Bros...

Great photos and a very cool Tabblo. Love the different angles and your perspective of this very cool building. I would dare to say that the tribute to Belushi would indicate a "party" atmosphere on the inside.

This is a really fine tabblo. for some reason it reminds me of one of those scifi movies where most of the population has died out and the surviors are wandering around in search of life and stumble across remants of civilization. And none of them know who john Belushi is accept for one very elderly wild and crazy guy.

This looks indeed very mysterious to me... And I kind of understand when you say it's acts like a magnet. Very nice pictures. My favorites are the first two.
