It was a hot and muggy day in Boston, but no matter, for I knew Huey Lewis was in town and I was going to the concert that night. Yeah some may call me a loser, but I know that the heart of rock and roll is still beating. Everybody knows, that it's all right, whoa, it's all right. Now everybody, clap yo' hands.
My journey started at Central Square Lynn as I made my first trip on the commuter rail right outside my new apartment. There were lots of strange people on the train platform. One guy was throwing up all over the place. Another gentleman was wearing all bright red like a pimp, but only the kind of pimp you would see in the movies. I would have taken his picture, but he may have killed me, so I didn't. |

This is Rafa. He didn't want to be seen at such an event, but I have it well documented that he was there. As a matter of fact he was so happy to be there that when Chicago started Colour My World he took his cell phone to the air as if it was a lighter. Who's the loser now, I ask? |

The venue was really cool. Rafa was nice enough to get us the seats all the way in the back right corner. When I say the back right corner, I mean that quite literally. Can you see Huey in the picture above? Yeah, me neither. I think my camera knew I was drunk and wanted to capture the moment, so it took these nice blurry pictures for me as well. |

Rafa kept showing me his Princeton ring. Allright, I get it, you're smart. |

We moved past the Princeton stuff and into more interesting conversation like how Rafa gets ingrown hairs on his cheek that really itch. Fascinating. |

Finally it was time to get on the bus to go home. I took my three chins and got on the silver line. I made sure to follow all directions and keep my hands and feet where should be at all times. Only problem was, I was a little drunk, so I decided to do the opposite of everything the bus told me to do.
The guy sitting nearby thought I was hilarious. Everyone else was looking at me like the Boston snobs they are.
All in all, it was a great night. I got to go the Littlest Bar in Boston, which is being torn down soon. I got to eat Fine Irish Pub food at some Fine Irish Pub. Have you ever seen Bangers and Mash served with Baked Beans? Me either, but wow, was it good....mmmm..mmmm
....And I wonder why I have three chins.
Can you feel it? Feel the power of love?
Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Huey Lewis and Chicago. Yep, it's official. I'm an old bastard!!!! |
