Australia Day

The 2008 Australian Tennis Open will start next week. Since I won't be able to go this year, I started looking through the photos I took last year and remembered the good times I had with my friends. The 5 of us spent a week in Melbourne and enjoyed many other sights besides the tennis--Phillip Island, St. Kilda, Australia Day celebrations, and much more :)

Wonderful photo of the tennis game, not easy to take from the last row. And the sea astonishing. Bravissimi

Thanks, we did have fun:) Being in the last row was actually not so bad, it meant we were in the shade most of the time whereas those in the front had to roast in the 40 degree sun:P But if anyone is planning to go, make sure you get tickets early. We got our tickets one week after they were on sale and the ticket vendor was laughing at us for coming so late. She said people were lining up the day tickets were on sale. But I still enjoyed the quarterfinals and semi-finals a lot:)

There is just NOTHING as fun as banging some balls around on a tennis court. I always end up laughing and thrilled after a really good long rally and some wicked serves! Don't care a thing about the score....just the pure chasing and strategic shots, the sound of ball being whacked by the racquests. The Aussie scenery shots a real treat too! Great tab! pmc

Pattymaryclare, glad you are a tennis fan too! I love both watching and playing tennis :)

Superbe images, du mouvement, de la force, de la beauté... Et un petit tour au bord de mer au dessert. Bravo, merci Sue, salut mon amie.

Great action shots for the tennis tourney! Love the gelato pic--yum! I also like the juxtaposition of the 'seal viewing'sign with the similar position of the dog--adorable! The little girl with the fluffy chicken is a charming shot and I really appreciate how you capture the energy of the waves in the seaside shots.

Yes, I loved the children looking at the animals--they were so cute.

I'm glad that you enjoyed melbourne. There are so many things to see and do during the Summer. Each year, more new and exciting things are happening!
I missed the Tennis Open for 2 years now, I used to go every year, until my work get on top of me. I lost my court... lol. Anyway, Love the shots, I had so many pictures taken, but my computer died as someone hacked into it... sigh... anyway, I enjoyed these pictures. Thnx for sharing. ;P
