So it is a bit of a workout, but not too difficult. The climb to the summit is spectacular. It involves crossing that small glacier above the valley headwall and then a scramble up the last stony pyramid. The summit is at 7,639 feet - which is fairly high around here because we are not far from the seacoast. Outstanding views from up there! Once I skied from the top in the second week in June. Summer is short at these altitudes.
That bug was slow and kinda friendly. It was walking beside my van and when I reached down to shoo it away it flew up and landed on my arm. Most of the other bugs we encountered were smaller, could fly quickly, and many had an appetite for our flesh.

If I want to enjoy the mountains I have to travel to Switzerland, Austria or the south of France. Or even further away. And that is not something you do over the weekend... So we'll have to wait untill our next holiday.
