Visitors are welcome to come and walk the labyrinth. The labyrinth is between a new public park and the Tir na nOg Theatre School near the top of the Bowen community of Cates Hill. If the large urn of water remains, I am sure that the new plants along the path would appreciate a drink of water, especially in dry weather. Zoom back to see more of Bowen Island and the Ferry Birth. Cates Hill is young community that rises just behind and to the west of Snug Cove. If you don’t know the way, you will find that Bowen Islanders are friendly and will be glad to direct you. It is a stiff walk all the way up the hill from the ferry. Some people who would never hitchhike on the mainland find it easier than walking here on Bowen. One of the reasons that it took months to create this labyrinth is that it was lovingly constructed by a team of volunteers. Landscape architect, Bruce Haggerstone, designed the site and built the forms (there are eleven circles plus the central mandala), and facilitated the process. The stones that form the path were carefully placed by many people. Thanks Nmat. Yes, Bowen Island is a 20-minute ferry trip into the mouth of Howe Sound, British Columbia. It is within sight of Vancouver, BC. Howe Sound is North America's most southerly true fjord. There is a wonderful sense of community here, and there are many willing hands ready to volunteer. Somehow, I messed up the HTML in my previous comment where I tried to post a link to a Google map that would let you explore the area.
